Rules of the SSBA Forums
This SSBA forum section exists to facilitate networking, support and the sharing of advice amongst its members. The SSBA want to make sure members of the forum have a safe, pleasant and informative user experience and therefore we would ask that all members adhere to the rules and regulations of our forum.
The SSBA are not responsible for any content added by SSBA Forum members. While the SSBA will endeavour to monitor all forums, they will not be able to monitor every thread and post, neither will they be able to monitor the conduct of every SSBA Forum member.
If you are aware of any SSBA Forum members or posts/threads which do not adhere to our rules and policies please contact us immediately or click the ‘Report Post’ symbol next to the inappropriate post.
Reporting posts
In the main, keeping the SSBA Forums free of spam or inappropriate content can be achieved through reporting any suspicious or inflammatory posts to the SSBA Forum moderators. You can do this by clicking the ‘Report Post’ symbol next to any post. Please also give a very brief reason for reporting the post.
What constitutes inappropriate content?
The following list gives examples of the types of content that would be considered inappropriate. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and both members and moderators are encouraged to use their own considered judgement when dealing with inappropriate content.
Profane language
We request that you report any profane language that has not been detected by our filters immediately to the moderators by clicking the ‘Report Post’ symbol next to the inappropriate post. Anyone found using profane language will be issued a strike or banned.
Spamming
Spamming is prohibited. Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately. Spam includes the posting of non-relevant content, URL links, repetitive posting of nonsensical posts, and unauthorised advertising within the forums. We request that you report any spam immediately to the moderators by clicking the ‘Report Post’ symbol next to the inappropriate post.
Flaming, Bullying and Trolling
Flaming, Bullying and Trolling is personally attacking another SSBA Forum member with unfair criticism, insulting or threatening content. Alternatively it may be content posted with the deliberate purpose of angering another forum member. Flaming, Bullying and Trolling is deemed completely unacceptable and will be subject to a strike or ban. We request that you report any of these things immediately to the moderators by clicking the ‘Report Post’ symbol next to the inappropriate post.
Arguing
Members must not engage in one-to-one arguments, disagreements or disputes of a personal nature. Arguing is unwelcome and will be subject to a strike or ban. We request that you report any arguing or ranting immediately to the moderators by clicking the ‘Report Post’ symbol next to the inappropriate post.
Strikes and bans
Strikes and bans are given when members abuse the Rules of the SSBA Forums.
Strikes or bans given are not to be discussed on the forum. Such matters shall remain private between the SSBA and the member. Questions or comments concerning warnings, strikes or bans will be conveyed through e-mail.
'Strikes' are given against a member's account for the reasons mentioned above. Strikes expire after 12 months. Automatic 12 month bans are imposed if SSBA Forum members get 3 'strikes'. Persistent misuse of SSBA Forums will result in a permanent ban.
