Rebecca Cottage

» History

Rebecca Cottage is situated in the small town of Carnoustie 15 miles from the City of Dundee. The cottage was bought through the generosity of a number of individuals who recognised the need to provide suitably adapted accommodation for wheelchair users.

In fact, the initial idea stemmed from the work of the late Professor Wallace Park and his wife Dorothy who, through their own family, came into contact with Rebecca Temperley, a young girl with Spina Bifida and who the cottage is named after.

They then began the process of making contact with friends and colleagues who would support them in their fundraising endeavours. It wasn't long before the necessary funding was raised and a suitable cottage identified.
