Fundraising Volunteers

The Scottish Spina Bifida Association know that not everyone can afford to donate money to charities, so we decided to launch the 'Give A Little Appeal' an appeal for you to get involved in, without it costing you a penny!

Give a little time...

Volunteer with the Association
We want our volunteers to enjoy their time volunteering for the Association so let us know what you are interested in. That way, if you ever have a couple of hours to spare, we know we can get you involved with something you will really enjoy.
Currently we are looking for volunteers to help us bag pack at local shops or at can collections at local sporting events. Alternatively, do you know of the perfect location or venue to hold a can collection in your local community? Please let us know and we can contact them on your behalf.

Become a Community Ambassador
We are looking for volunteers across Scotland to attend cheque presentations or give talks on our behalf. Training will be provided and achievements like this look great on a CV! Alternatively, manage our counter collection boxes in your local postcode area. It's simple! We will place the counter boxes in local shops and as a Community Ambassador all you need to do is empty them every few months when we contact you and bank the income directly in your local branch.

For more info on the role of Community Ambassador have a look at the full job description.

As a Volunteer you: might be volunteering to gain work experience; to meet others; to have fun; to learn something new; to fill in time or to share experiences. We are therefore committed to supporting our volunteers and to making your experience a positive one.

The Saltire Challenge Awards are a recognised Scottish Award that are given to any 16-25 year old who takes part in a one off volunteering opportunity.

This award can be awarded on more than one occasion to anyone that volunteers regularly and is a great addition to your C.V. Potential employers are always on the look out for individuals who can go above and beyond.

The Scottish Spina Bifida Association work in partnership with the Saltire Awards to make every volunteering opportunity more valuable for the charity and for you by offering these special awards. If you're between 16-25 and volunteering for us please ask for further details by calling 01236 794508.
