How You Can Contribute
Gift Aid
When a taxpayer makes a donation in favour of the campaign, the Association can recover basic rate tax from the Inland Revenue. A? gift of £300 is thus worth £400 to the Association.
Higher rate taxpayers can themselves claim relief of the higher rate element (the tax in excess of the basic rate) paid on their gifts. This concession allows the higher rate taxpayers to increase their gifts at no extra cost to themselves. A table of actual costs for? gifts by higher rate and corporation taxpayers contained within a brochure outlining various methods of contribution can be obtained by contacting us.

Banker's Standing Order or Direct Debit
Monthly, quarterly or annual donations are most easily effected by means of completing a Banker's Standing Order or Direct Debit Mandate and returning it to the Association. Single gifts of any size will also be very welcome.
Shares, Properties and other Capital Items
Because the Association has charitable status, gifts of capital assets can be made directly to the Association without the donor incurring any liability to Capital Gains Tax or Inheritance Tax and no tax would be payable by the Association if the value of that asset was subsequently realised.
Limited Companies
Companies can contribute to the Association using Gift Aid. The gross amount of the annual payments can be offset against income liable to Corporation Tax. If a company is paying Corporation Tax at the higher rate, the true cost to that company is less than the value of the gift to the Association.
Public Limited Companies can give a single gift of any size to the Association and claim Corporation Tax relief on that gift.

Payroll Giving
Also known as "Give as you earn"(GAYE), payroll giving is a tax efficient method for individuals to support our Association through deductions from your salary/wages. (Up to a maximum of £900 per year). Obviously companies can play a major role in donating to charity if they are prepared to offer such a scheme to it's employees.
