The 1st May 2009 saw a fantastic new addition to the Kyle Shopping Centre in Ayr as the very first retail store for the Scottish Spina Bifida Association opened its doors.
The shop has been opened to help raise vital funds towards the £800,000 annual target for this Scotland wide charity which supports over 3,000 children, young people and adults who are affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and related conditions.
Clothing is being donated to the store from all over Scotland so it’s definitely worth a look in to see what bargains are up for grabs. The store also has a great range of accessories, toys, books and new greetings cards. You can also sign up in store for the Associations’ Lottery which gives individuals the chance to win up to £25,000 every week.
Deborah Roe, Head of Fundraising says “The shop is a great asset to the Association and we are very grateful to all those who have donated or shopped in our store so far. With less than 4% in government funding every item bought really helps us make a difference.”
Quality donations to the shop are always welcome and they are still looking for volunteers to help run the shop on a day to day basis. If you have any spare time and would like to volunteer please call Iain on 07798 790897 or call Fundraising on 01236 794508.
Donations can also be dropped into the Family Support Centre in Cumbernauld where they are collected on a weekly basis.
